Frameless Glass Balustrade with Boss Side Fixing in Shrewsbury Office
This project near Shrewsbury was a clean and functional frameless glass balustrade installation using boss side fixings. It was completed for a building firm’s internal mezzanine office space.
Why Choose Frameless Glass Balustrade with Boss Side Fixings?
If you want to keep light and visibility in a space without compromising safety, this setup works well. Frameless glass keeps the space open. Boss side fixing avoids any disruption to the floor surface. It’s a smart option for offices, staircases or mezzanines where you want a clean edge.
What the Job Involved
The client needed a compliant safety barrier for a first-floor office area overlooking a double-height entrance. It needed to meet regulations, look smart, and not block any light into the main space.
We fitted frameless toughened glass panels using stainless steel boss fixings, spaced along the timber fascia. The install had to align exactly with the woodwork already in place. Access was timed carefully with an active site below, so we worked around trades to get it done on time.
Materials Used

Building Regs and Safety
All our balustrade installs are built to meet UK Building Regulations and specifically BS6180:2011 for barrier loading and safety. For offices, this includes higher load ratings and edge protection, especially on open mezzanine floors like this one. Our fixings and glass specs are always selected to suit the specific risk and building type.
